𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗖𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Last week, the GreenCats research group joined the 𝟭𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 (𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗖𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲), 7–11 September 2026 in the Jeseníky Mountains. The event gathered 130 participants from 11 countries for five days of science and networking

GreenCats were represented by David Kubička, postdocs Rujito Sesariojiwandono Ridho Suharbiansah and Anastasia Kurbanova, and PhD students Evgeniya Grechman and Sharmistha Saha – all invited to deliver oral presentations.

Rujito Sesariojiwandono Ridho Suharbiansah: „Effect of preparation method on the catalytic properties of hydrotalcite-derived CuZnAl mixed oxides supported on SiO2 for the hydrogenolysis of methyl butyrate to butanol“.

Anastasia Kurbanova: „Development of Cu-based catalysts for valorization of lignin biomass towards high-value chemicals“.

Sharmistha Saha: „Insights into the structure and catalytic activity of highly dispersed Cu catalysts on ZrO2/SiO2 for ester hydrogenolysis.

Evgeniya Grechman: „LDL-derived CuZnAl mixed oxides as catalysts for catalytic transfer hydrogenation of furfural: the effect of co-precipitation conditions.

Beyond the lecture hall, PISC2026 offered a vibrant social programme – from visits to Dolní Vítkovice in Ostrava and Praděd, to karaoke and the final disco night – all set against the beautiful backdrop of the Jeseníky Mountains. It was the perfect environment to catch up with old friends, meet new collaborators, and exchange ideas across borders.

A huge thank you to the PISC2026 organisers, plenary and keynote speakers, and all participants for such an inspiring week. We’re already looking forward to continuing these conversations – and to PISC2028 in Hungary!
